Research Background:
My research will focus on the modeling of non-linear damping in assembled structures. Non-linearity is produced by two substructures as joined together by a rivet or bolt type connection and the frictional interactions between substructures with dependent amplitude (non-linear damping). Non-linear damping will be modeled by a single degree of freedom system, with a response compared to that of experimental observations.
